SIGNS of FALL

***

Signs of Fall around my house....

(Ceramic basket: A gift from (& painted by) my daughter, Jami)

(I'm afraid the large bow hides all the goodies in this basket in the living room.)

(Bill brought home these squash & pumpkins. It wouldn't seem like fall without an assortment of these on the table!)

There is such beauty in the colors of Fall that we see all around us...in the fruits, vegetables, and especially the leaves as they begin to change colors.

For The Beauty Of The Earth
(beautifully sung on Playlist by St. Philip's Boys Choir)

For the beauty of the earth,
For the beauty of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies,
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This our grateful hymn of praise.

For the beauty of each hour
Of the day and of the night,
Hill and vale, and tree and flower,
Sun and moon and stars of light,
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This our grateful hymn of praise.

For the joy of human love,
Brother, sister, parent, child,
Friends on earth, and friends above,
Pleasures pure and undefiled,
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This our grateful hymn of praise.

For each perfect gift of Thine,
To our race so freely given,
Graces human and divine,
Flowers of earth and buds of heaven,
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This our grateful hymn of praise.

Such a nice fall post! I like your little ceramic basket.

Thanks for posting about the shoe boxes too! I might put that on my blog too. I look forward to doing that each year. We bought a little plastic giraffe last week to start on our box.

Hi Susan,

I found you. I love all your fall things. I especially like the chipmunk on the skate board, cute.

I have yet to put ours out and my goal is to before we leave so the kids have a festively decorated house while we're gone. I'll just add it to the very very long list.

Take care,

Janet

Hi Susan,

How now! I haven't done a thing hardly around the house to decorate this year. I've got some decorations going over at the learning center because that's where I'm at most of the time. Mike couldn't care one way or the other. As long as he gets his apple cider and fall food treats he's a happy camper.
This year I decided to SIMPLIFY! With leaving for Kenya on the 15th of November and returning December 2, I know I'll be frustrated with taking down fall when I get back and putting up Christmas, too. I'm even scaling back there this year because we're going to Missy's in AL for Christmas instead of doing Christmas here. So, we'll see what will go up.

Well, now that I've written an essay I'll sign off!
