CRAFTY WEDNESDAY!

Today's our Crafts Day!
Are you thinking
"These gals aren't 'crafting'....
they're sitting around having a gab fest!"
Well...........
you might be right!!
We do occasionally get around to crafting, though,
so
Why don't you hop on over!

SCRIPTURE for SUNDAY

This is just one of many wonderful verses in Isaiah 40!

Have a glorious Sunday!

My grandson, Justin is spending his Spring Break with us, so I'm looking forward to a fun, busy week!

DAFFODILS

This beautiful poem was written over two hundred years ago.

"Daffodils" (1804)

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretch'd in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

--William Wordsworth(1770-1850)

SPRING IS HERE!

Today, for the first time in many months, we've been able to open up the house and let the sunshine in (at least for a little while).
We even took our coffee out onto the front porch and enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs, watching the birds.
The chipmunks are starting to emerge from their winter hiding places.
Any day now, our daffodils will be bursting into bloom.
I think Spring is here!

singing birds
See! The winter is past;
the rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves
is heard in our land.

Song of Solomon 2:11-12

Happy Spring

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Since my ancestors came to America from England, Ireland & Wales, I guess I can claim to be a little bit Irish, huh?
This is my favorite Irish song. Michael Londra has the most beautiful voice, so hope you'll take a few minutes to enjoy this video featuring scenes from Ireland.

SPRING FORWARD!

See those sleepy eyes?...That's me! Although I'm as anxious for Spring as the next person, this time change is NOT one I enjoy! Put the coffee pot on, & make it STRONG!
Early Morning
I woke early one morning
The earth lay cool and still
When suddenly a tiny bird
Perched on my window sill.
He sang a song so lovely
So carefree and so gay,
That slowly all my troubles
Began to slip away.
He sang of far off places
Of laughter and of fun,
It seemed his very trilling
Brought up the morning sun.
I stirred beneath the covers
Crept slowly out of bed,
Then gently shut the window
And crushed his stupid head.
(I'm not a morning person.)
Author unknown
Of course the author is unknown...who'd take credit for this goofy poem??
Ha, ha!
Now, you all know I'm a serious bird lover, so please forgive me; my quirky sense of humor just got the best of me! That's what happens when I lose an hour of sleep!

FRIDAY FUNNIES

This is Keith, the Pool Shark. At the time of this video, he was only 22 months old.

COFFEE TIME!

My hubby surprised me recently with this new fantastic Keurig coffeemaker.

It brews single-cup coffee in less than a minute, & there are so many different brands of K-cups available....not only in coffee, but also tea or hot chocolate. Of course, my main love is the coffee. One of my favorites is shown below (Extra Bold Dark Magic). Now, that's a real cup of coffee!

Come on over, & I'll let you choose which flavor you want to try. S: )

HERE WE GO AGAIN!

Another beautiful snow day greeted us yesterday morning. Here is the view out my upstairs bay window.
The winding vines around the tree on the left is my wisteria. I'm really hoping it blooms this year, as it's one of my favorite flowers!
Hope you're having signs of Spring at your house!.....It's still winter here, & I'm beginning to regret singing 'Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!' over the holidays! Ha!
