BOUNTIFUL BLESSINGS

I grew up in central Florida, and the picture below could've been from our table. My grandfather, who lived next door, had almost every known fruit tree growing in his yard. My mother tells me that he used to carry me around through his yard when I was just a toddler, teaching me the names of all of the fruits and vegetables he had growing there...right down to the kumquats, loquats, satsumas, etc.
As this Thanksgiving weekend winds down, and family and friends are departing to their respective homes, I am humbled at the thought of how tremendously blessed we are.

I hope your Thanksgiving was not only a time of enjoying good food with family and friends, but a time of reflecting on the indescribable goodness of our great God!

Enter His gates with thanksgiving
and His courts with praise;
give thanks to Him and praise His name.
For the Lord is good
and His love endures forever;
His faithfulness continues
through all generations.
Psalm 100:4,5

Here we are on Thanksgiving Day.
R to L: Judy, Tom, Justin & I.
Bill took the picture, so isn't in this shot.

Susan,

Glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I've *heard* of kumquats but wouldn't recognize one and have never heard of the others! They sound very exotic :o)

Hi Susan! It looks like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I miss visiting with you. Life's been a a little hectic this fall for me. I haven't even been at our own church much because of visiting around and fund raising.

Hope to see you soon.

Blessings. Marsha

Hey, Justin...did you eat that whole drumstick? Bet you had fun with your grandparents over Thanksgiving!

Thank you, Dallas, Susan, Marsha & M.
Dallas, kumquats look like little oval-shaped oranges, and are very tart, almost bitter. Loquats are sometimes called Japanese plums, I think, & are delicious. Very small amount of fruit around the many pea-sized seeds, however.

Susan, 'word picture' is such a nice way to put it. Glad you liked the Scripture, too!

Marsha, I've been pretty remiss lately, as well. I still enjoy blogging; just finding less time to keep at it.
Loved the Colorado photo your son took, by the way! Beautiful shot!

'M,', we had a wonderful time with Justin here for a week. He's such a great kid! S: )

Hi, Mary! Thanks for stopping by!
I like it here much better, too, but it's fun to recall the good aspects of growing up in Florida!
Sorry you missed seeing Justin, but you can be sure he'll be back as soon as he can have enough days off from school! S: )
